The French Polymer Group (GFP) is a non-profit association founded in 1970 concerned with advancing polymer as a science
OBJECTIVE
- Bring together the various actors on polymers in France & coordinate actions to foster and promote polymer science
NETWORK
- Nationwide members from the various fields of polymer science
- Members from academia, higher French education and research organizations as well as industry
- Partnerships with learned societies: SCF, SFP, FFM, AFICEP, SFIP, EPF, IUPAC, ACS, etc.
- Annual national colloquium, young researchers meeting, regional meetings, workshops
- Partnership with international polymer events & conferences
- Awards for PhD students, Junior & Senior polymer scientists, honorary member
- Joint GFP/SCF and GFP/SFP recognitions
- Newsletter relaying latest advances and innovations, job openings (internships, Ph.D., postdoc, industrial positions), events, etc. in the field of polymers
ORGANIZATION
- A national structure with a board of directors & an executive board composed of industrials, teachers and researchers
- Regional GFP sections throughout the nation
- Education committee providing summer/winter schools, educational supports, training tools
MONITORING AND ANTICIPATING THE FUTURE OF POLYMERS
- Foresee, identify and monitor innovations and recent developments
- Access to technological platforms for the characterization and development of new polymers and database on their technical and human resources
- Preparation and organization of prospective workshops on state of the art topics
