This summer school comes during an exciting period of rapid development for solar energy technologies, and particularly photovoltaics. Aimed at PhD and Master students, young reasearchers, but also open to those wishing to know more about the fundamental and applied science of this foremost renewable energy resource, this school will give the following tutorials
- Renewable energies,Prof Vincent Platel (University of Pau, France)
- Principles and development of organic photovoltaics,Prof Jenny Nelson (Imperial College London, United Kingdom)
- Materials for organic solar cells, Dr Graham Morse (Merck, United Kingdom)
- Factors influencing charge mobility in organic semiconductors, Prof Jenny Nelson(Imperial College London, United Kingdom)
- Modelling electronic processing on organic solar cells, Prof Jérôme Cornil (University of Mons, Belgium)
- Fullerene acceptors in OPV, Prof Patrick Hudhomme (University of Angers, France)
- Light on organic photovoltaic devices: The key role of scanning probe microscopy, Prof Philippe Leclère
- Kinetic and thermodynamic effects on solar cell thin film stability, Prof Natalie Stingelin (Georgia Institute of Technology, USA)
- Interfacial layers and electrodes for organic photovoltaics, Dr Morten Madsen (University of South Denmark, Denmark)
- Processing of OPV and encapsulation, Dr Tobias Sauermann (OPVIUS GmbH, Germany)
- Commercialisation aspects for OPV, Dr Tobias Sauermann (OPVIUS GmbH, Germany)
- Degradation of organic solar cells induced by exposure to sunlight, Prof Jean-Luc Gardette (University of Clermont-Ferrand, France)
- An overview of dye-sensitized solar cells, Dr Renaud Demadrille (CEA Grenoble, France)
- Introduction to silicon and thin films solar cells, Prof Erik Johnson (Ecole Polytechnique University Paris-Saclay, France)
- Introduction to perovskite solar cells,Prof Jacky Even (INSA Rennes, France)
A visit to coincide with the official opening of four world leading examples of building integrated (nearby Pau), community-scale organic photovoltaics will be organised.
Several sessions will be devoted to peer-reviewed short talks, and a call for abstracts for oral and poster presentations is open.
