The CNRS is opening a ‘Chaire Junior’ position in Artificial Intelligence and Polymer Chemistry. The aim is to recruit a talented young researcher trained abroad to strengthen the theme of AI in polymer science at the national and European level. Indeed, advances in combinatorial polymer chemistry and machine learning offer interesting opportunities for the engineering of new polymer materials meeting pre-established specifications.
At the LCPO we are developing an automated flow chemistry platform for polymer synthesis, and are currently collaborating with computer scientists to apply artificial intelligence to macromolecular engineering. We are very motivated to develop a research project in this field with a suitable candidate.
In case of success, the recruited candidate will be provided with a suitable environment to support his/her project. The position will start with a 3-6 years contract (typically 5 years), which would be expected to become permanent at the Research Director level on successful completion of the contract (roughly equivalent to a tenure track position).
